Tricia Fahy

Head of Innovation Management

Tricia is Head of Innovation Management at Invention Services. Tricia qualified as a Software Engineer and has over 20 years experience in software development and project management working in the US, UK & Ireland. She graduated from NUIG in 2012 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation Management. Tricia is the first point of contact for Invention Services and always welcomes new ideas and proposals to the team. She liaises on product development with all stakeholders – including third level institutions, funding agencies and manufacturing partners in China, Ireland and the EU.

Paul Walsh

Co-founder & Head of Product Development

Paul is co-founder of Invention Services along with Ollie, his son.
Paul started in business in the early 70’s when he established Computer Plating Specialists, a metal finishing company based in Dublin. That business grew to be the largest metal finishing company in Ireland and UK, with major international computer companies as clients. During his time with CPS, Paul invented a series of labour saving devices which were successfully patented. In 2005, he exited CPS in a trade sale. Since then, Paul has been focusing on idea generation and New Product Development. As well as being an inventor, he is also an engineering consultant with customers such as Meath Metal and Clonakility Black Pudding helping with their production processes and Meath Metal.
Paul is experienced in prototype development and 3D printing. His role at Invention Services includes CAD design, production of prototypes, liaising directly with manufacturing partners to get designs and prototypes translated to production models and eventual manufacture.

Aonghus Sammin


Gus has been working as a practicing accountant since 1990. He has extensive experience in financial planning for growth strategies – working with both national and international finance and change management programmes with world leading brands. Specialising in financial forecasting and budgeting, Gus has developed a reputation as a leader in the area of new business development and business recovery solutions to business who need to re-examine their core financial structures in order to remain competitive. Gus holds a number of business mentoring roles with key business partners, and sits at board level and chairs the finance Committee for a high profile national NFPs. He also maintains a role of CEO of Bradan Consulting who offer critical business advise and financial planning to SMEs in the West of Ireland.

Ollie Walsh MBS

Co-founder & Marketing Strategy Advisor

Ollie has spent the last twenty years working with Start Ups to get them to market and with SMEs to get them to scale. He has worked primarily in Ireland and the UK, but he has worked extensively with companies in Europe, Africa, China and North America.

Ollie brings the experience of a CEO to the Invention Services team. He is co-founder and CEO of PiP iT a FinTech company which has operations in EU, Africa, Asia and North America. He is also the co-founder of Ingenuity – a market research, strategy, implementation consultancy.

From an academic perspective, as well as his Masters in Business Strategy from NUIG, he has Post Grad Certificates in Innovation Management from London School of Economics and in Applied Entrepreneurship from the Atlantic Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Invention Services was born when Ollie and Paul (Ollie’s farther as well as co-founder) recognsed the need for a dedicated company to nurture their product development activities. Initially this was for Paul’s inventions in Golfing products and hardware tools, but this was later expanded to cater for inventions submitted from inventors and businesses.

Ruaidhri Prendergast

Business Advisor

Ruaidhri has 25 years experience as a business owner in hospitality, medical device, ecommerce business setup, sales & marketing.
Ruaidhri can adivse on systems and processes for business owners & teams, product launch, B2B sales, cost reduction and strategic planning.

Carlos Garcia Pando

Medical Product Development Advisor

Carlos García Pando is engineering and medical product development advisor for Invention Services. He has a strong background in Engineering with 25 years´ experience in Manufacturing and Technical Sales, QA, and entrepreneurship.

He is Sintermedical Chief Technical Director with consultancy experience in Manufacturing, R&D, Regulatory and Patent Registration.

Kevin McSharry FCA

Financial Advisor

Kevin McSharry is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (“FCA”) and holds a B.Comm (Hons) from NUIG. He started his career in KPMG and was previously a partner in BDO, one of the world’s largest advisory firms.

Kevin is the Managing Director of Circle Advisory, a leading advisory firm to a wide range of entrepreneurial and ambitious companies.

He has extensive experience in providing a wide range of services to entrepreneurial companies at all stages of their development including raising equity capital, raising debt finance, implementing staff share option schemes, implementing growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions.

Kevin regularly assists companies in establishing a presence in various international jurisdictions. This expertise covers formally incorporating companies, taxation advices and appropriate corporate structures.

Kevin has advised companies who have furthered their international reach and shareholder base through Initial Public Offerings (IPO’s) on Dublin, London and NASDAQ markets.

Tom Burke

Biotech Advisor

Tom Burke is a business professional with more than thirty years experience in the startup biotech industry. He has held senior management positions in several startup biotech companies, and is an entrepreneur himself, having co-founded three startups and matured two Medical Device companies in addition to Harpe Technologies.

He received his B.A Degree at the National University of Ireland and was the ninth employee in the C.R. Bard Inc startup in Ireland. He is co-founder of Contech Medical Ltd. in Ireland growing the company to 75 employees and €7 m sales.

Since founding Harpe technologies he has provided consulting services to several entrepreneurs and academic professionals looking to start a biotech company.
